Pair of Gense Scandinavian dishes, steel and teak wood

VNTG00041?
$200.00
$
A set of vintage stainless steel serving dishes with teak wood handles.

Its form is classic Northern Modernism: elongated ovals, a precise metal curve, and concise geometric handles.
18/8 (chrome-nickel) steel is distinguished by its characteristic warm luster and high resistance to the passage of time.

The contrast of cool metal and warm wood creates that serene balance always associated with the Scandinavian table.

Crafted in Sweden by Gense, one of the oldest Scandinavian tableware brands.
Discovered in Dunkirk, France.

How to use:
  • For serving cheese, fruit, bruschetta, or seasonal tarts.
  • As charger plates or accent dishes in a minimalist setting.
  • Or as tabletop trays — for candles, spices, rosemary sprigs, and flaked salt.

About Gense:
Gense is a Swedish brand founded in 1856.
The company began as a manufacturer of cast iron products, but by the early 20th century, it focused on stainless steel cutlery and tableware.
Gense is known for its collaborations with leading Scandinavian designers, including Folke Arström, Sigvard Bernadotte, and Gustav Hallén.

Their products are distinguished by their utilitarianism, restrained design, and perfectly refined proportions.

Today, vintage Gense pieces are collected worldwide as prime examples of Nordic functionalism.

PLEASE NOTE

Each item in our vintage collection carries its own history, which may leave traces of its past life.
We strive to describe the condition of each lot as accurately as possible, and our photographs are taken in good light and are unretouched, allowing you to examine the item in detail.

Hronika: vintage collection features only those pieces that have retained their aesthetic appeal and can become a beautiful accent in any space. Nevertheless, please note that even perfect items may show signs of age.

If specific characteristics of an item were noted in the product description, these are not considered defects or flaws.

Most vintage items have been previously used. Therefore, it is almost impossible to determine if an item has been used after purchase — even with expert examination. We ask you to consider this when placing an order: returns for vintage items are not provided.

Before purchasing, you will have the opportunity to carefully inspect the item — at the pickup point or upon courier delivery. If something is not suitable, you can refuse the purchase on the spot. In this case, the buyer pays for the return shipping.
If you accept the parcel, it means that the item has captured your heart, and you have decided to keep it.
