A rare and expressive piece — a serving dish with a stand, a classic format of utilitarian Italian or Portuguese ceramics from the second half of the 20th century.
Similar dishes were common in Mediterranean summer homes and restaurants during the latter half of the 20th century.
It was a utilitarian item — and simultaneously decorative: combining practicality (draining excess moisture) with the vibrant beauty of handmade ceramics.
The piece consists of two parts: a deep dish and a removable perforated plate-stand — a design conceived for serving fresh fruits, berries, and vegetables. The drainage kept produce dry, and the presentation looked neat and beautiful.
Today, such dishes are especially valued as an accent in table settings: they can be used for fruits, bread, or simply as a tabletop object with vintage charisma.
