A rare mid-20th-century decorative jug, crafted in the traditional Spanish botijo form. It features a characteristic silhouette: a rounded body, two short spouts, and a loop handle.
It is covered in a rich oxblood red glaze—a deep, complex hue with a warm, glossy sheen.
The color plays a pivotal role, simultaneously drawing the eye and emphasizing the form. In an interior, it functions as both an accent and an art object.

Botijo [bo-TEE-ho] jugs are an integral part of Spanish artisanal culture.
Traditionally, they were used for storing and serving water; thanks to the porous structure of the ceramic, the water inside remained cool. In the mid-20th century, amidst a resurgence of interest in national crafts, these jugs began to be produced not only as utilitarian items but also as decorative pieces. This item is a prime example of such works.
